ZACROS and Iino Kaiun add rewards for time held; E-Guardian ends its program; Yasuda Logistics adjusts for a split

ZACROS will pay more to holders of two years or more, and Iino Kaiun lowered its entry level from 500 to 300 shares. E-Guardian, which introduced its benefit in 2024, will end it after the September 30, 2026 register.

Four Japanese listed companies filed changes to their shareholder benefit programs on November 5, after our last post. Two, ZACROS and Iino Kaiun Kaisha, made their programs more generous. E-Guardian is ending its program, and Yasuda Logistics adjusted its share tiers for a stock split.

Shareholder benefits, known in Japan as kabunushi yutai , are voluntary perks that listed companies give their holders, usually products, vouchers or discounts on the company's own services. They are set by each company's board and are separate from dividends.

The summaries draw on the companies' own releases and on Japanese financial press coverage of the filings, and the Japanese filing remains the authoritative version. We could not confirm any benefit filings made on November 6 at the time of writing; any we find will appear in the next post.

The filings

ZACROS

TSE Prime · 7917 · Packaging and chemicals · Filed November 5

ZACROS is adding a higher benefit for holders of two years or more from the March 31, 2027 register. Holders will also be able to choose between a QUO card, a prepaid card widely used in Japan, and QUO Card Pay, its digital version. The entry level stays at 100 shares. Holders of under two years receive ¥1,000 ($6) at 100 shares, ¥2,000 ($13) at 500, ¥3,000 ($19) at 1,000 and ¥4,000 ($25) at 10,000 shares or more, the same scale as the current card. Holders of two years or more receive ¥1,500 ($9), ¥4,000 ($25), ¥6,000 ($38) and ¥8,000 ($51). Tenure is counted by the same holder number appearing on five or more registers, and the lowest holding in the period sets the tier.

Iino Kaiun Kaisha

TSE Prime · 9119 · Shipping and real estate · Filed November 5

Iino Kaiun Kaisha is lowering the entry level for its benefit, catalog points that holders exchange for products, from 500 to 300 shares, on its March register. It is also raising the points, to between 1,000 and 10,000 ($6 to $63) depending on shares held and holding period. The lottery prize of a rakugo performer's hand towel is replaced by a lottery for invitations to rakugo and kodan storytelling shows at Iino Hall. The change was announced during trading hours on November 5.

E-Guardian

TSE Prime · 6050 · Online content monitoring and moderation · Filed November 5

E-Guardian is ending the shareholder benefit it introduced in 2024. The September 30, 2026 register is the last one: holders of 100 shares or more on it receive a selectable digital gift worth ¥5,000 ($32), or ¥8,000 ($51) for holders of one year or more, with a notice planned for late December 2026. There will be no benefit from the September 2027 register onward. Coverage of the filing says the company is moving to a progressive dividend policy from the year to September 2027, with a forecast of ¥42 ($0.27) per share.

Yasuda Logistics

TSE Prime · 9324 · Warehousing and logistics · Filed November 5

Yasuda Logistics is splitting each share into two, effective January 1, 2027, and is adjusting its benefit to match. From the March 31, 2027 register, the share tiers move from 100, 1,000 and 5,000 shares to 200, 2,000 and 10,000 shares. The QUO card values do not change: ¥1,000 ($6), ¥2,500 ($16) and ¥4,500 ($28), each ¥500 ($3) higher for holders of three years or more. Tenure is counted by the same holder number on seven consecutive registers. In practice, a holder keeps the same benefit after the split.

Context

Time held is again the common thread. ZACROS pays up to twice as much to holders of two years or more, and Yasuda Logistics keeps its three-year bonus through its split. Both count tenure the same way as the companies in our previous post: consecutive appearances under the same holder number on the company's register.

Iino Kaiun went the other way on access. Lowering the entry level from 500 to 300 shares lets more holders qualify.

E-Guardian's program lasted about two years. It announced a progressive dividend policy alongside the change, much as Daitobo paired a smaller benefit with a higher dividend forecast the day before.

Yutai's view

Splits and tenure rules show how much of a Japanese benefit sits in the register. A split doubles every share count, and the company has to redraw its tiers so no one loses out. A tenure rule needs the same holder number on the register for years. Holders who keep the same shares through an international broker, or in tokenized form, sit outside that register and cannot build tenure. We think time held should count wherever the shares are held.
