October 5 brought one benefit change: Kin-Ei, an Osaka cinema operator, added membership perks to a program built around free tickets.
Shareholder benefits, known in Japan as kabunushi yutai (株主優待), are voluntary perks that listed companies give their holders, usually products, vouchers or discounts on the company's own services. They are set by each company's board and are separate from dividends.

The filings
Kin-Ei
TSE Standard · 9636 · Cinema operator, Osaka · Filed October 5
Kin-Ei, which runs the Abeno Apollo Cinema in Osaka, gives holders of 75 shares or more free cinema tickets twice a year, rising with the number of shares held. It is adding free use of its Apollo Cinema Members program, which normally costs ¥300 a year, alongside a new ticketing system starting November 5, 2026. The free tickets continue. The company said the change is meant to make cinema visits more convenient for holders.
Context
Early October is usually quiet for benefit disclosures, and this year was no exception: the rest of the week brought no new filings in the lists we track. Kin-Ei's change is small, but it is typical of companies whose benefit is their own service. When the service changes, here a new ticketing system and membership program, the benefit changes with it.
Yutai's view
A free cinema ticket gets a holder into the company's business in person. It is one of the clearest examples of a benefit that builds a customer relationship as well as rewarding ownership.
